About Celsius

Celsius is a fitness drink brand founded in the United States in 2004 by Stephen Haley1. The company claims that its products can boost metabolism, burn calories, and enhance performance, based on clinical studies2.

Celsius offers five product lines, each with multiple flavors:

  • Celsius Originals
  • Celsius Stevia
  • Celsius BCAA +Energy
  • Celsius Heat
  • Celsius On-the-Go

Each product line contains 200 mg of caffeine per can or packet, except for Celsius Heat, which contains 300 mg of caffeine per can3. Celsius also contains vitamins, minerals, and natural ingredients, such as green tea, guarana, ginger, and citrus.

Celsius is one of the fastest-growing energy drink brands in the world, with a revenue of $653.6 million in 2022, up 108% from $314.3 million in 20214. The company has expanded its distribution to more than 30 countries, including Canada, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Germany, Spain, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, Mexico, and India4.

In 2022, Celsius forged a 20-year distribution agreement with PepsiCo, which holds an 8.5% stake in the business5. This deal has helped Celsius increase its market share and shelf presence in the U.S. and international markets.

According to Jefferies and Euromonitor analysis, the global energy drink market is expected to reach $85 billion by 2025, with a compound annual growth rate of 7%6 7. Celsius aims to capture a larger market share by appealing to health-conscious and active consumers looking for a functional and low-calorie energy drink.

In Q3 2023, Celsius claimed a 4.9% market share in the U.S. energy drink market, overtaking Bang Energy as the third-largest brand8. Jefferies research predicts that Celsius could capture 8% to 9% of the U.S. retail market by 2025, thanks to the Pepsi agreement.
